Formerly the capital of Nigeria, Lagos is a huge metropolis which originated on islands separated by creeks, such as Lagos Island, that fringe the southwest mouth of Lagos Lagoon, protected from the Atlantic Ocean by long sand spits such as Bar Beach which stretch up to 100 km east and west of the mouth.

Even though governor babatunde fashola has done alot in the past 3 years to improve Lagos’ infrastructure, many roads are still ridden with pot holes, made worse by rain.

Got this photo from a friend who travel to Lagos recently showing some of the pot holes. Cars literally have to slow down to almost a halt to navigate these hazards.

People there keep saying, “You should have seen Lagos 3 years ago”.
